is a two-year, co-educational school, catering for students in Year 7 and 8 aged between 11 and 13 years of age. Currently the school has a roll of around 720 students. Each year a limited number of spaces are made available for international students. We welcome applications.
Our school is recognised throughout New Zealand as a leading intermediate school. Students regularly achieve highly both nationally and internationally in a range of curriculum areas. Programmes are designed to encourage all to do the best they can in everything they undertake. We work to have them understand that they are able to make a positive difference for their own future. Successes are celebrated.
We also have a great many programmes designed especially to assist those students requiring additional support. Many new arrivals require help with the English language. We can offer this help in a supportive environment. We also offer support in a range of curriculum areas.
Every year many visitors from within New Zealand and from overseas visit our school to view our programmes in action. They are welcome. Our students are proud of our school, as we are proud of the many successes they achieve.

At Farm cove Intermediate we have students from many parts of the world - they help make our school an interesting and exciting place to be in. Our vision is "excellence in all things".
Teachers in the school are very well qualified and we achieve very well academically. Our standards of behaviour are high and children are focussed on their work. Students also have opportunities to take part in sporting and cultural activities and we have specialist teachers for music, science, art, food technology, information and communication technology and hard materials/electronics and control.
The school is very well resourced with computers, an excellent library and attractive buildings and grounds.
